About Argo

Argo is a free, standalone total conversion of Arma 3 that drops players into a hardcore tactical first‑person shooter. Set on the 62 km² Mediterranean island of Malden, the game treats every bullet as lethal, so careful positioning is essential.

Players start as rookie mercenaries, earn experience, and unlock weapons, attachments, and gear while choosing between two rival factions. The title offers three competitive 5‑man modes, a co‑op Combat Patrol mode for up to ten players, and a built‑in 3D Scenario Editor for custom missions.

01 / THE GUIDE

Mercenary Faction Choice

At launch you contract with one of two rival factions, which determines the side you fight for in every match. This choice also defines the opposing forces you will encounter across all game modes.

As a rookie operator you gain experience that unlocks new weapons, attachments, and gear specific to your chosen faction, giving a clear progression path tied to the faction you represent.

  • Try both factions early to see which unlock tree matches your preferred loadout.
  • Monitor your experience gains after each match to plan the next unlock you need.

02 / THE GUIDE

Malden 2035 Map

The battlefield is the modern re‑imagining of Malden, a classic Bohemia Interactive terrain covering 62 km². The map includes dense urban areas, wide open plains, and several unique points of interest.

Each terrain type is built to support the three competitive modes, encouraging close‑quarter fights in cities and long‑range engagements across the plains, while points of interest add tactical variety.

  • Visit each terrain type in a solo session to learn sightlines and cover options.
  • Mark recurring choke points on your map to anticipate enemy movement.

Competitive Game Modes

Argo features three competitive modes for 5‑man units. In Clash two units battle over territory in a series of engagements, focusing on area control.

Link tasks a unit with capturing a chain of points before the enemy does, while Raid pits one unit against another to secure three possible data terminal locations.

  • Assign a squad leader to keep the team focused on the primary objective of each mode.
  • Switch between offensive and defensive postures when the enemy shifts its focus between points.

04 / THE GUIDE

Combat Patrol Co‑op Mode

Combat Patrol lets up to ten hired guns team up against AI opponents in an open‑world setting. Objectives are randomized each session, and enemy forces are procedurally generated.

Success depends on planning, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to new challenges presented by the dynamic environment, making each playthrough distinct.

  • Divide the group into scouting, support, and assault roles to cover varied objectives.
  • Stay flexible; procedural enemy spawns may require on‑the‑fly adjustments.

05 / THE GUIDE

3D Scenario Editor

Argo includes a built‑in Scenario Editor that lets players create and play custom missions. The interface allows placement of entities, waypoint assignment, and trigger setting in a few steps.

Using the editor expands replayability by enabling community‑generated content beyond the core modes, allowing players to design their own objectives and environments.

  • Start with a simple capture point mission to learn the editor’s workflow.
  • Share your scenario with friends for balance testing and feedback.
