About Apex Legends
Apex Legends™ is a free‑to‑play hero shooter on Windows where three‑person squads select distinct Legends, each with a tactical, passive and ultimate ability. Teams compete until only one squad remains, blending fast‑paced combat with strategic positioning on a rugged Frontier map.
The game continuously adds new Legends, expands tactical options and supports full controller use, speech‑to‑text chat and a “playable without timed input” mode. Optional purchases use Apex Coins, a virtual currency that can expire after 180 days.
01 / THE GUIDE
Squad Tactics and Match Flow
Each match begins with three players choosing a Legend, then dropping onto a large map where they must loot, move and engage opponents. The squad’s success depends on coordinating abilities, sharing resources and controlling key terrain until the last team stands.
The round ends when only one squad survives, so teams balance aggressive pushes with defensive retreats, using cover, height and ability timing to gain advantage over rival squads.
- Discuss each Legend’s role before the drop to align early strategy.
- Prioritize high ground or enclosed spaces to improve sightlines.

Legends Roster
Apex Legends features an ever‑growing roster of diverse Legends, each equipped with a unique tactical, passive and ultimate ability. This variety lets players build squads focused on offense, support or reconnaissance depending on the chosen combination.
New Legends are added over time, introducing fresh ability interactions and expanding the tactical landscape without altering the core match structure.
- Rotate Legends each match to discover effective ability synergies.
- Watch official patch notes for ability adjustments.

In‑Game Currency and Purchases
The title includes optional in‑game purchases of virtual currency called Apex Coins, which can be spent on virtual items, including random selections from Apex Packs. These purchases are not required to play the core game.
Unused Apex Coins expire 180 days after the first date they are acquired; the oldest coins in a balance are always used first when making purchases, encouraging regular use of earned or bought currency.
- Check your coin balance regularly to avoid unexpected expiration.
- Spend older coins on items you need before they lapse.

Controller Support and Accessibility
Apex Legends offers full controller support on Windows, including DualShock and DualSense compatibility, allowing players to use their preferred gamepad for all gameplay functions. The game also provides speech‑to‑text chat for voice communication.
An additional accessibility option lets players “play without timed input,” removing forced time limits on certain actions and giving more flexibility in how they interact with the game.
- Adjust controller dead zones and sensitivity in settings for smoother aim.
- Enable speech‑to‑text if you have limited microphone access.

Apex Packs cannot be purchased in Belgium, reflecting a regional restriction on that specific transaction type.
- Review the achievement list to set personal goals.
- Collect trading cards to craft badges and showcase dedication.
