About AION 2
AION 2 launches as a free‑to‑play MMORPG built on Unreal Engine 5, featuring a world 36 times larger than the original AION. The game centers on aerial combat, making verticality a core element of travel, exploration, and fighting for all Daevas.
Players can customize their avatars with more than 200 visual options, tackle solo, party, or raid PvE content, and join PvP, seasonal challenges, and the Shugo Festival’s mini‑games. Pre‑registration and wishlist items are delivered via in‑game mail for a limited window.
01 / THE GUIDE
Aerial Combat
Combat in AION 2 occurs across three dimensions, with altitude directly influencing tactical choices. Every region and battlefield is built around verticality, so height can determine line‑of‑sight, attack angles, and defensive options during solo fights or massive raids.
Players are encouraged to chain skills while paying attention to precision, timing, and positioning. The need to manage altitude creates decisions that differ from traditional ground‑based MMORPG encounters, emphasizing spatial awareness over simple rotations.
- Experiment with gaining height before engaging to see how enemy behavior changes.
- Observe enemy movement patterns to time skill chains that match vertical shifts.

Character Creation
AION 2 provides an advanced character creation system offering over 200 visual customization choices, with countless outfits, mounts, and wings also available to collect. These options let each Daeva craft a distinct appearance that stands out in the sky‑bound battlefield.
The system’s breadth allows mixing and matching of cosmetic pieces, so players can express personal style while navigating solo challenges, party dungeons, or large‑scale raids.
- Combine different wing styles to create a silhouette that is easy to track in aerial combat.
- Select contrasting outfits to help teammates quickly identify your role during group fights.

PvE Content
The game offers more than 200 dungeons across solo, 5‑player, and 10‑player formats, plus larger raids. Each dungeon is designed with verticality in mind, providing varied challenges that scale with group size.
Seasonal challenges and open‑world events add extra layers of activity, while the Abyss links PvE encounters with faction war, ensuring that solo and group efforts influence the broader game world.
- Begin with solo dungeons to learn mechanics before joining larger groups.
- Try seasonal challenges for fresh enemy configurations and additional objectives.

Shugo Festival
The Shugo Festival introduces a suite of mini‑games on Atreia, such as defending Shugos from waves, racing pets against other players, and dodging laser obstacles. These activities provide alternative ways to engage with the world beyond combat.
Completing mini‑games grants unique cosmetic rewards, including wings, skins, pets, and décor, expanding the visual customization pool available to every Daeva.
- Practice the laser‑dodge game to sharpen reaction timing useful in aerial fights.
- Enter pet races to collect exclusive pet cosmetics.
