About AI: Art Impostor

AI: Art Impostor is a party drawing game for 3‑8 players that mixes AI‑generated art with hidden‑role deduction. A random exhibition theme is shown only to the genuine artists, while the impostor must bluff and try to guess the theme.

Matches last about five minutes and run on Android, iOS, and Windows PCs. Friends can join via a Room ID or be matched with strangers, and the game runs on low‑spec hardware.

01 / THE GUIDE

Goal of the Match

Each round ends with a vote. If the majority correctly identifies the impostor, the real artists win. The impostor loses in that case.

If the impostor avoids detection and then names the secret theme, the impostor wins instead of the artists.

  • Watch how closely each AI drawing matches the disclosed theme.
  • When you are the impostor, keep your guesses vague until you have enough clues.

02 / THE GUIDE

Theme Selection and Visibility

At the start of a match a theme is chosen at random. The theme is displayed to all real artists but remains hidden from the impostor.

All players then give the AI a short prompt to generate artwork. Only the real artists know the theme they are trying to illustrate.

  • Use concise prompts that highlight key elements of the theme.
  • Impostors can mimic common motifs to blend in with the artists.

03 / THE GUIDE

Impostor Identification Vote

After every AI drawing is shown, players discuss the results and then vote on who they think the impostor is. The player receiving the most votes is declared the impostor.

The vote outcome alone decides whether the artists win (correct vote) or the impostor wins (incorrect vote and theme guess).

  • Look for inconsistencies between a player’s prompt and the resulting image.
  • Consider how confidently each player talks about the theme.

Cross‑Platform Multiplayer

AI: Art Impostor supports online play on Android, iOS, and Windows. Players can join a match using a shared Room ID, allowing friends on different devices to play together.

The game’s low system requirements mean it runs on older computers and on smartphones without needing high‑end hardware.

  • Share the Room ID promptly to reduce waiting time.
  • Maintain a stable internet connection for smoother AI generation.

05 / THE GUIDE

Avatars, Styles, and Purchasable Items

Players may choose avatars and visual styles to personalize their presence. Two item categories exist: those bought with in‑game currency and those bought with real‑money currency.

The Steam edition currently lacks real‑money purchases, but a future update will add that feature. Customization does not affect gameplay outcomes.

  • Select an avatar that stands out if you want others to notice you.
  • Check for future updates if you are using the Steam version.
