About Adventure Land - The Code MMORPG
Adventure Land is an open‑source indie MMORPG where players can code their own party actions while fighting monsters, gathering gear, and exploring a shared world. The game runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and supports up to four characters—three adventurers and a merchant—each running its own JavaScript.
Seasonal events like the Halloween Headless Horseman showdown add themed waves, cosmetics and emotes, while the rotating daily Witch’s Cipher puzzle challenges groups to decode recipes. Players keep all characters, items and code permanently, with no seasonal wipes, and can trade freely with others.
01 / THE GUIDE
Halloween Headless Horseman
At midnight realm time the Headless Horseman appears, spawning graveyard waves that players must defeat. Rewards include equipment, cosmetics and the animated Sinister Laugh emote.
The event is listed in the new Events window, which shows active seasons, daily activities and upcoming events in local or realm time. Players can set a REMIND flag to receive a log reminder ten minutes before the event starts.
- Check the Events window early to note the exact midnight start and set a REMIND flag.
- Coordinate with other players to handle the graveyard waves efficiently.

Witch's Cipher Puzzle
Witch's Cipher is a collaborative puzzle where players collect ingredients and use clues, logic or CODE to crack a secret recipe. The puzzle continues after Halloween as a rotating daily event.
Clues are presented in‑game and can be solved manually or by writing JavaScript that processes the hints, allowing parties to share solutions.
- Gather ingredients early and share them with party members to speed up decoding.
- Experiment with simple CODE snippets to test logic before committing to a full solution.

In‑Game Code Editor
Adventure Land includes a built‑in editor where any character can run JavaScript. The Tutorial offers a JavaScript Crash Course for beginners, and guides show manual actions then provide CODE equivalents.
Players can edit one line at a time, test changes, and watch their party act on the new logic, turning simple ideas into automated routines.
- Start with the provided tutorial scripts before writing your own code.
- Use the INFO links at NPCs and dungeons to see example CODE for common tasks.

Multi‑Character Party Control
Players can control up to four characters simultaneously: three adventurers (e.g., Warrior, Mage, Priest) and a Merchant. Each runs its own JavaScript and can communicate with the others.
Roles such as healing, protection, damage, and trading can be assigned, and parties may also join other players to coordinate combat, crafting or market activities.
- Assign a Priest or Paladin to keep fighters alive while the Merchant handles loot sales.
- Test inter‑character communication with simple messages before building complex automation.
