About Active Matter

In Active Matter you are an operative caught in a time loop; each death returns you to the start, where you pick a loadout and enter quantum‑unstable zones rich with active matter, fighting rivals and surviving physics‑bending anomalies.

Harvest the active matter, gather loot, and extract before the zone vanishes. The gathered resource fuels upgrades at your syndicate base and lets you join PvE, PvPvE, or PvP raids that influence the multiverse.

01 / THE GUIDE

Time Loop & Loadout

When you die, the loop resets you to the starting location, forcing a fresh loadout selection for each entry.

You must gather loot and extract before the zone ceases to exist, while rival operatives remain the greatest threat.

  • Plan loadout based on expected anomalies.
  • Coordinate extraction timing with squad.

02 / THE GUIDE

Active Matter Harvest & Replication

Active matter sporadically pulls objects from alternate timelines into the zone, allowing you to collect a valuable resource.

Collected matter can be taken to your base, where it enables replication of specific items from those timelines.

  • Prioritize active matter before engaging enemies.
  • Secure a safe extraction point after harvesting.

03 / THE GUIDE

Syndicate Base & Arsenal Upgrades

Your syndicate base serves as a hub where harvested active matter is spent to upgrade weapons and gear rooted in real-world military tech.

These upgrades improve combat capability, supporting your efforts to break the loop and influence syndicate conflicts over active matter sources.

  • Focus upgrades on weapons you use most.
  • Balance gear improvements with active matter reserves.

04 / THE GUIDE

Maps & Anomalies

Maps exist outside conventional space‑time, featuring locations such as a massive island with rusty Soviet industrial complexes and cryptic science labs.

Within these zones, mind‑bending anomalies alter gravity and topology, creating unpredictable combat environments dynamic.

  • Watch for sudden gravity shifts.
  • Use map landmarks to navigate anomalies.

05 / THE GUIDE

PvE, PvPvE, and PvP Raids

The game offers extraction‑style PvE raids and hybrid PvPvE missions where small squads face AI threats and rival players.

Intense PvP battles see syndicates fighting over passive active matter sources, making each encounter impact the multiverse’s fate.

  • Communicate squad roles before entering.
  • Prioritize enemy players when active matter is scarce.
