About Ace of Spades: Battle Builder
Ace of Spades: Battle Builder blends first‑person shooting with sandbox construction. Up to 32 players pick one of seven classes and fight on a battlefield they can build, destroy, and rebuild during the match.
The title includes a multiplayer map creator for up to 23 collaborators, Steam Workshop sharing, and a host‑controlled suite of custom game modes that let you set lobby privacy, team composition, map choice, match size and duration.
01 / THE GUIDE
Construction System
Players access custom tools and a library of more than 400 prefabricated pieces to erect walls, towers, and other structures directly in first‑person view. Building can be performed while moving and shooting, allowing immediate tactical placement.
Destruction works the same way: weapons and explosives break structures, opening sight lines or removing enemy cover. The constant cycle of building and breaking keeps the arena in flux throughout each match.
- Combine large prefabs for solid cover with smaller ones to create choke points.
- Target enemy structures early to limit their defensive options.

Multiplayer Map Creator
A dedicated map creator mode lets up to 23 friends collaborate on a new battleground. The editor supplies the same custom tools and 400‑plus prefabs used in matches, ensuring creations match in‑game assets.
When a map is finished it can be uploaded to the Steam Workshop, where other players can download and play it, extending content beyond the official maps.
- Sketch a rough layout before placing prefabs to keep flow balanced.
- Run a short test round with a few friends to spot dead‑ends before publishing.

Custom Game Modes
Hosts can adjust many settings before a match: lobby privacy (invite‑only, friends, or open), team sorting, map selection, player count, match length, and an extensive set of rule tweaks. These controls let you shape the experience for any group.
The same interface also lets you enable or disable specific vanilla modes, such as Team Deathmatch or Capture the Flag, and then apply custom rule changes to create unique variants.
- Use the ‘kick’ function to remove players who break the intended style of the match.
- Set the lobby to ‘invite‑only’ when testing a new rule set with a trusted group.

Game Modes Variety
The title ships with many modes, including Team Deathmatch, Zombie, Capture the Flag, Demolition, Diamond Mine, Occupation, VIP, and Territory Control. Each mode defines its own win condition, such as eliminating the enemy or holding a specific area.
Modes like Zombie switch surviving players to the opposing side after death, while Demolition focuses on planting and detonating bombs, encouraging different building and combat strategies.
- Read the win‑condition description before launching a new mode to align your building plan.
- Try a mode that emphasizes area control if you enjoy defensive construction.

Platform Support
Ace of Spades: Battle Builder runs on Windows and macOS and supports cross‑platform multiplayer, allowing players on either system to join the same lobby. Linux is not listed as a supported platform.
Steam integration adds achievements, trading cards, Workshop map sharing, and Family Sharing, so multiple accounts can access the game from a shared library.
- Check the Steam Workshop for maps that list both Windows and macOS compatibility.
- Enable Family Sharing if you want friends or family to play without buying a separate copy.
