About ABI-DOS
ABI‑DOS is a logic‑puzzle game where players place wires and instruction blocks on a microchip to guide colored digital blocks called UBITS toward specific goals. Each level begins with a blank canvas, letting you craft unique solutions without any programming background required.
The game offers over 50 puzzles and more than 50 hours of gameplay, featuring a retro‑punk aesthetic and a mysterious system Admin. Players can compare their optimized circuits on global leaderboards and track progress with Steam achievements, cloud saves, and stats.
01 / THE GUIDE
Circuit Building
Players assemble wires and instruction blocks on a microchip to manipulate UBITS, the colored digital blocks that represent inputs and outputs. The placement of these elements determines how the circuit processes data to meet each puzzle’s specifications.
The building process emphasizes spatial constraints and logical sequencing, encouraging inventive problem‑solving. Because every level starts empty, you have full freedom to design multiple viable approaches, fostering creativity and personal optimization.
- Experiment with different wire routes to discover shorter paths.
- Group similar instruction blocks to reduce clutter and improve readability.

Puzzle Objectives
Each challenge tasks you with a concrete goal such as fixing corrupted files, recovering damaged PNG images, or simulating particle trajectories. The objectives are defined by strict specifications that your circuit must satisfy.
There are no predetermined solutions; any circuit that meets the documented criteria is accepted. This open‑ended design allows multiple valid strategies and encourages players to refine their logic for efficiency.
- Read the objective description carefully before placing components.
- Test intermediate outputs to ensure you’re on the right track.

Leaderboards & Stats
ABI‑DOS tracks performance metrics and posts scores to Steam leaderboards, letting you compare your solutions with friends and the global community. Performance statistics are recorded through the game's stats feature.
Steam Achievements are awarded as you reach milestones in the game. Steam Cloud keeps your progress available across sessions.
- Aim for lower component counts to improve leaderboard rankings.
- Review your stats after each puzzle to identify optimization opportunities.

Retro‑Punk Setting
The game’s world blends retro computer aesthetics with punk‑styled visuals, creating a distinctive atmosphere for each puzzle. The system’s Admin, a mysterious figure, oversees the challenges and adds narrative intrigue as you progress.
While the setting does not affect gameplay mechanics, it provides contextual flavor that enriches the puzzle experience and hints at deeper mysteries within the system.
- Notice visual cues in the environment that may hint at puzzle themes.
- Enjoy the story snippets for added immersion without expecting gameplay changes.
