About A Day Out

A Day Out sends hunters to distinct global locations where each case presents a unique environment. Players locate clues, solve the mystery, and then confront the cryptid responsible for the incident. Captured creatures are returned to a forward operating base for display.

The title supports single‑player and online co‑op for up to four hunters. Vehicles let players cover large zones quickly, but high‑speed collisions can eject the rider, giving the pursuing monster a chance to close the gap.

01 / THE GUIDE

Cases and Clues

Every mission is set in a different part of the world, giving each case its own visual backdrop. The core task is to find clues that point toward the cryptid behind the incident, turning exploration into a focused search.

When enough clues are gathered, the case is considered solved and the cryptid appears. This direct link between clue collection and the ensuing encounter defines the progression of each mission.

  • Take a moment to scan each area thoroughly before engaging the creature.
  • Compare clue symbols across cases to anticipate cryptid traits.

02 / THE GUIDE

Cryptid Capture

After a case is solved, the responsible creature emerges and must be subdued. Players can employ traps and other weapons to capture the ferocious cryptid safely.

Once secured, the captured cryptid is displayed back at the forward operating base, providing a visual record of each successful hunt.

  • Combine a trap with a weapon to increase capture reliability.
  • Observe the creature’s movement pattern before setting a trap.

03 / THE GUIDE

Vehicles and Traversal

Vehicles let hunters quickly cross large areas and provide an escape route when a cryptid gives chase. They are the primary means of rapid movement across the map.

Colliding at high speed may throw the rider off the bike, allowing the monster to close distance. Managing speed therefore balances rapid travel with safety.

  • Maintain moderate speed in unfamiliar terrain to avoid accidental ejection.
  • Plan a clear escape path before engaging a fast‑moving cryptid.

04 / THE GUIDE

Hunter Customization

Players can freely customize hair, tops, bottoms, bags, shoes, and additional items. These options let each hunter create a distinct visual identity.

Customization lets each hunter create a distinct look, which can help differentiate teammates during co‑op hunts.

  • Choose contrasting colors for teammates to improve visual coordination.
  • Experiment with different outfits to find a personal style you enjoy.

05 / THE GUIDE

Co‑op Play

A Day Out supports online co‑op for up to three other hunters, allowing a party of four to tackle cases together. Working with friends can make aggressive monsters easier to secure.

Co‑op does not replace the single‑player option; players may still complete cases alone if they prefer.

  • Assign one player to focus on clue gathering while another prepares traps.
  • Communicate vehicle usage to avoid multiple hunters colliding.
