About 7 Days to Die
7 Days to Die drops players into a post‑apocalyptic world overrun by undead, blending first‑person shooting, survival horror, tower‑defense and RPG elements. Players scavenge, craft, build and fight while managing health, hunger and skills across massive, destructible biomes. The game supports solo or multiplayer modes, letting groups cooperate on settlements or compete by raiding each other’s bases, all within procedurally generated maps up to 100 km² and a variety of zombie types.
01 / THE GUIDE
Exploration and Biomes
The world contains five distinct biomes and over 700 locations, ranging from cities and towns to caves and valleys. Maps can reach up to 100 square kilometres, offering varied terrain for players to traverse.
Each biome presents unique resources and challenges, encouraging players to adapt their strategies for gathering, shelter building and combat as they move through the environment.
- Scout each biome early to locate high‑value loot zones.
- Note terrain stability; building on weak ground can cause collapse.

Crafting and Recipes
Players can hand‑craft weapons, armor, tools, vehicles and more using over 500 recipes. Schematics found in the world unlock more powerful recipes, expanding the crafting tree.
Items can be modified with a range of mods, and quality tiers provide thousands of possible variations, allowing deep customization of gear.
- Prioritize finding schematics to broaden your recipe pool.
- Upgrade items with mods that suit your playstyle, such as damage or durability.

Building and Defenses
Construction uses over 1,300 building blocks and a painting system, letting players design forts with traps, electric power, auto‑turrets and automated doors. Structures are fully destructible and react to structural damage.
Proper design is crucial; poorly supported builds can collapse under their own weight, affecting both defense and mobility.
- Use support beams to reinforce large structures.
- Integrate traps and turrets to thin zombie waves before they reach walls.

Multiplayer Cooperation and Competition
The game offers co‑op and PvP options, supporting online and LAN play, as well as cross‑platform multiplayer. Groups can collaborate on settlements or raid each other's bases.
Trader NPCs provide quests and goods, adding objectives for both solo and group play across the shared world.
- Coordinate roles in co‑op games—one gathers, another builds defenses.
- When raiding, scout enemy base layouts before committing forces.

Vehicle System
Players can locate parts, learn recipes and craft a range of vehicles, from bicycles to gyrocopters. Vehicles can be customized and driven with friends, expanding mobility across large maps.
Vehicle parts are scavenged, and each type offers different speed, durability and terrain handling, influencing travel and combat strategies.
- Maintain vehicle parts to avoid breakdowns during long trips.
- Choose a vehicle suited to the terrain you’ll traverse most often.
