About 1bitHeart

1bitHeart is an indie adventure game developed by △○□× (Miwashiba). Players follow Nanashi, a reclusive boy, who meets a mysterious girl and becomes involved in odd events that unfold in a near‑future Japanese town overseen by computer programs.

The story is delivered through a two‑part Story Mode and, after completion, a Free Mode where players can converse with townspeople and try mini‑games. The Windows Steam release adds specially created events and includes Steam achievements, trading cards, and family sharing.

01 / THE GUIDE

Story Mode Structure

Story Mode consists of a Detective Part and a Conversation Part. In the Detective Part you explore the town and speak with residents to gather information and topics, which are needed for later progress.

The Conversation Part lets you use the collected topics to piece together dialogues that move the narrative forward. The mode ends when your HP reaches zero.

  • Record each topic you acquire; it simplifies matching them later.
  • Re‑visit earlier locations after gaining new topics to uncover additional dialogue.

02 / THE GUIDE

Detective Part

During the Detective Part you move through a side‑scrolling town, speaking with characters to collect clues. Each conversation can provide a new topic that is stored for later use.

The focus of this segment is on observation and information gathering; no combat or other mechanics are described.

  • Listen for small remarks; they often become useful topics.
  • Sketch a simple map of the town to ensure you cover all conversation spots.

03 / THE GUIDE

Conversation Part

In the Conversation Part you arrange the topics you have collected into appropriate dialogues with NPCs. Correctly matching topics advances the plot and reveals new mysteries.

The game ends when your HP reaches zero.

  • Group similar topics before attempting a dialogue to see connections more clearly.
  • If a conversation stalls, review your topic list for any missing pieces.

04 / THE GUIDE

Free Mode

Free Mode becomes available after you clear Story Mode. It lets you talk and mingle with townspeople, make friends, and play mini-games, friendship building, and access to mini‑games.

This mode emphasizes social interaction rather than puzzle solving, giving players a chance to explore the town’s atmosphere without narrative pressure.

  • Use Free Mode to revisit favorite characters for extra dialogue.
  • Try each mini‑game at least once to discover any hidden references.
